The 2008 Take Me Fishing Centers launched at the San Diego Boat Show, January 3–6, 2008. Featuring four stations, a casting pond and a giant fish tank stocked with local species, consumers could:

• Buy their fishing license
• Learn about basic equipment
• Promise to share the sport with someone new through AnglersLegacy.org
• Attend educational fishing seminars
• Learn how to cast
• Surf the net for more than 12,000 places to boat and fish at TakeMeFishing.org
• Enter to win a fishing kayak
• Record video testimonials about their boating and fishing experiences

RBFF extends a special thanks to the California Department of Fish & Game and Bass Pro Shops for volunteering their time. RBFF would also like to recognize the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) for hosting the exhibit and pro anglers Kathy Magers and Ronnie Kovach for sharing their boating and fishing knowledge and expertise.
