Louisville Boat, RV & Sportshow

The 2008 Take Me Fishing Center appeared at the 51st annual Louisville Boat, RV & Sports Show, January 24–February 1, 2008. Visitors could experience all types of outdoor activities from boating to fishing, hunting, camping and even RVing at the mid-South’s premiere outdoors show.
The Take Me Fishing Center featured four stations, a casting pond and a giant fish tank stocked with local largemouth bass. Consumers could:

  • Buy their fishing license
  • Learn about basic equipment
  • Promise to share the sport with someone new through AnglersLegacy.org
  • Attend educational fishing seminars
  • Learn how to cast
  • Surf the net for more than 12,000 places to boat and fish at TakeMeFishing.org
  • Record video testimonials about their boating and fishing experiences

RBFF extends a special thanks to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources and the International Game Fish Association for volunteering their time. RBFF would also like to recognize the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) for hosting the exhibit and pro anglers Diane DeLaGarza, John Dunnavant and Brad Outersky for providing their boating and fishing knowledge and expertise. RBFF would also like to thank the University of Louisville L-Raisin’ anglers for their time and educational instruction.
